08 DRAINAGE & IRRIGATION

Ground Control.

Drainage is one of those things that gets left out of a project more often than it should — not always through neglect, but because the consequences aren't visible until the damage is already done. By the time water is pooling, foundations are affected, or a retaining wall is showing signs of movement, the cost of fixing it is always greater than the cost of getting it right the first time.

Water Needs To Go Somewhere.

Every driveway, patio, or garden bed changes how water moves across your property. If that path isn't planned, water ends up where it shouldn't — against a foundation, pooling on the lawn, into next door's section. Before any work starts, it's worth asking one question: Where is this water going once it hits that surface?

What We Actually Do About It.

Once we know what's going on, the fix usually starts before we even touch a shovel — with a survey of the property to see where things actually connect: existing stormwater lines, downpipes, the council network. From there, it's channel drains to intercept surface water, catchpits to collect it at the low points, and a plan for where it all needs to go.

It's not an extra step. It's the part of the job that makes the rest of it last.

Choosing The Right System.

Every site has a story, if you know where to look. Water pooling against the house calls for a channel drain. A low point in the section needs a catchpit to collect it. We walk the land first, so the system matches what it's actually dealing with.
